ASG Group announced today the appointment of Dean Langenbach as Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective immediately.

He replaces Geoff Lewis, the founder of ASG Group, who is retiring from the position after 23 years in the job.

Mr Langenbach was appointed Chief Operating Officer in September 2011 after spending more than six years as ASG Group’s Chief Financial Officer, and has extensive experience in financial management, business improvement and IT operations.

He paid tribute to Mr Lewis, who set up ASG Group in 1996.

“Geoff is a true trailblazer in Australian technology and his tenacity, vision and commitment have helped turn ASG Group into a genuine alternative to the global digital transformation players,” Mr Langenbach said. “We wish Geoff all the best in his retirement from ASG Group.”

Mr Lewis said it had a been a privilege to have built ASG Group from scratch and to have seen the company grow over the past two decades into a major Australian provider of end to end digital transformation services.

“It’s been a hugely exciting ride but the timing is right for me to step back from a business that has been part and parcel of my life for many years,” he added.

“I am confident ASG Group is in good hands, with a strong pipeline of major work, an experienced and stable management team led by Dean, and the backing of a global powerhouse in Nomura Research Institute.

“Since the sale of ASG in 2016, I’ve been an active investor in technology and related areas, and I now look forward to broadening that role and more fully pursuing some opportunities.”

Mr Langenbach said ASG Group had recently won a number of major public and private sector contracts, in areas as diverse as air services, infrastructure, roads and traffic services, and energy, with other major contracts in the pipeline.

He said the company had recently opened a new National Operations Centre in Adelaide to service national as well as local clients.

“Our recent growth demonstrates the confidence we have in our future, supported by our renewed and bolstered capabilities, and the backing of our parent company NRI, a powerhouse global Japanese consulting firm,” he added.

ASG Group employs more than 2,000 staff nationally and has offices in 8 cities across Australia and Asia.
