ASG Group Limited (ASG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Duke as General Manager – Queensland. The region is one of ASG’s strongest and Mr Duke is tasked with leading ASG Queensland and expanding opportunities in the corporate and government sectors.

Mr Duke has long-established credentials in the Queensland IT services market and was recently the Director, Energy and Utilities in Queensland for Capgemini Australia, where he had responsibility for driving growth in the energy, utilities, mining and state government sectors.

He has also previously held General Manager and Regional Lead roles with CSC Australia, Logica, and BHP.

ASG Group’s Chief Operating Officer Dean Langenbach said that Mr Duke’s strong client relationships in the region will be a real asset to the business.

“In addition to Mike’s impressive management experience, he also has a deep understanding of partnering with large, blue-chip clients to deliver solutions that drive real business benefits,” he said.

Mr Duke’s unique blend of consulting and infrastructure experience was an excellent fit for ASG’s expanded capabilities, following the company’s acquisition of SMS Management and Technology late last year said Mr Langenbach. “Many of the Queensland IT providers don’t offer services across the entire technology lifecycle,” said Mr Duke. “I am excited to join an organisation with a broadened range of solutions, from strategy and advisory to implementation and ongoing support. “I was also keen to join a company where I have the ability to be flexible and agile to meet the demands of the local market.” Mr Langenbach said that with ASG’s strong on-the-ground presence in Queensland, the company has the local expertise to deliver tried and tested digital transformation solutions that are specifically tailored to customer outcomes. In January this year, ASG won a $16.5 million contract to migrate Queensland utility, Unity Water, to the Microsoft Azure public cloud and deliver full infrastructure and application managed services. “ASG already has a strong foundation in Queensland and I am really looking forward to working with the team to deliver best of breed solutions for our customers in the region,” said Mr Duke.
