Project Manager & Service Delivery Manager | ACT
The ASG journey started for Sarah in 2018 when she joined as a consultant working in the advisory space before moving on to Project Management and Service Delivery. Sarah currently works as a Project Manager across several and notably plays a very important role as a Service Delivery Manager for a high-profile government client.
Sarah is a social butterfly, a keen AFL follower, and as we said above, loves solving a puzzle! Sarah has now completed nearly every Escape Room in the ACT and a few in Sydney. When Covid allows, she would love to travel around Australia or even the world to test out her problem-solving capabilities!
We asked Sarah what it’s like having two roles at ASG and what motivates her. While passion for her work is clear, it is Sarah’s dedication to contributing to ASG’s company culture and appreciation for her co-workers that we admire most.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR WORK EXPERIENCE AT ASG SO FAR…
“I have grown a lot since I started with ASG. Originally, I was engaged to work in the Advisory space as a Consultant on Risk Management, Agile and Change Management. While I had worked on projects previously, I had never managed a project before.
I was a consultant for around four months before I was assigned a project where the client wanted to use Agile Methodologies. For me personally, it was a very challenging engagement for many reasons, good and bad.
Things quickly turned around though when I was asked if I would fill the role of Event Manager for a government client, running the Web Hosting Services for a national event. This role was really exciting and different from anything I had done before. Because it was a high profile public event, it was critical we got it right. Both the ASG team and the clients in-house team all got along so well. Everyone pitched in, and it was a highly successful team. This was a turning point in my career and really boosted my confidence!
Shortly after the event, I was approached and asked if I would step into the role of Service Delivery Manager. Again, something I had never done before. I jumped at the opportunity to work with such a great team.
Overall, my confidence has grown enormously over the three years I have been at ASG. I’ve never been a quietly spoken person, but I now have the confidence to tackle large programs of work as well as sit on several internal forums that contribute to the overall culture and wellbeing of ASG employees.”

“Definitely People. The people you work with are so important and I have been very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing people. The Project Services Team and the ACT Service Delivery Managers are amazing examples of how people support each other in the workplace to achieve great things.
The culture within the Project Services Team is something I have not experienced often in other roles. Our team meets daily at 9am and we share ideas, collateral, experiences, and have a laugh. It’s a really cool way to start the day.
The other is Variety. I’m lucky enough to get to work from anywhere in Australia! I like the idea of sitting by the beach or in a café somewhere while working remotely, then spending the evenings and weekends exploring parts of Australia I’ve never seen before.
In regards to my career, I am blessed that I have had the opportunities to do so many different things at ASG in such a short period of time, and those opportunities keep coming.
I’d like to say to anybody reading, who currently works at ASG or is thinking about it, if you are looking to get involved in something, stick your hand up and ask. There are lots of opportunities to grow and learn new things and to contribute to change for the better.”
I AM BLESSED THAT I HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITIES TO DO SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS AT ASG IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, AND THOSE OPPORTUNITIES KEEP COMING.
YOU’VE MENTIONED THE GREAT CULTURE WITHIN THE PROJECT SERVICES TEAM. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE ASG’S OVERALL COMPANY CULTURE?
“I think our culture has evolved over the years I’ve been here. Like every business, there is always ways to improve. But I can see our Executive Leadership Team and our Regional Leaders really starting to make a difference to the culture, which to me is exciting and makes me look forward to the future of ASG and what that will do for our staff and clients.”
WHAT ABOUT YOUR ROLE MOTIVATES YOU EVERY DAY?
“Working with my colleagues and clients. I’m really lucky. I have some great clients and a really great team around me so that is definitely what motivates me.
I have worked with so many wonderful people. From ASG team mates to my client team mates. I couldn’t possibly name them all!”
